Because both styles are ballet-based, dancers are expected to have at least one year of ballet training or be concurrently enrolled in ballet or receive faculty approval.

General Information
Competition companies are dance teams that represent dance studios around the world. The Studio’s competition company will participate in regional and national competitions and performances. To prepare for competitions, dancers will participate in intensive practices to perfect group and solo routines.
Dancers will spend their class time advancing their technical skills while promoting teamwork, reaching goals, and continually increasing self-esteem. There are several commitment levels available with The Studio’s competition company including group and solo opportunities.
All students who are selected to join the competition line are required to also be enrolled in general classes for the genre they will compete in. Dancers who are enrolled in classes at another studio without a competition company will be exempt from this rule. Dancers who are currently part of a dance team will also be exempt during the dance team season.
